Pet Comprehensive Wellness & Preventive Care in Celina, TX

At Celina Veterinary Hospital, we don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to wellness and preventive care. We work with you to offer a tailored approach for your individual pet based on several elements such as: age, environment or potential exposure to parasites/pathogens, and pre-existing health conditions. We believe that consistent wellness and preventive care not only leads to longer and healthier lives but earlier detection and treatment of disease.

These are the four pillars we use to construct your pet’s wellness and preventive care plan:

  1. Comprehensive Wellness Exam: The foundation of any good wellness plan starts with a thorough nose-to-tail physical exam and history of your pet. This allows us to begin tailoring your pet’s wellness and preventive care.
  2. Vaccinations: We follow the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) vaccination guidelines to help provide an individualized vaccine schedule for your pet based on several factors including age and specific exposure to certain pathogens.
  3. Heartworm/Flea/Tick Prevention: Pets living in Texas are constantly exposed to mosquitos that carry heartworms, fleas that cause allergic skin disease, and ticks that can carry awful diseases. From oral pills and chews to topical treatments, we offer several different preventatives to help treat & prevent heartworms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” – Benjamin Franklin, 1736
  4. Diagnostic Testing: It is no secret that dogs and cats age faster than people. Most veterinarians consider pets as “seniors” by age seven. We are also seeing pets live longer each year. We have worked with our laboratory to curate a series of different wellness panels that we institute at different stages as your pet ages. This leads to earlier detection and treatment of disease, some of which can go unnoticed until the disease has become more advanced.
